Artist’s Statement

Sonder: the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. Seclusion: the state of being private and away from other people.
Sonder Seclusion is a representation of how I envision human emotions and isolation. The viewer can interpret the images within the framework of their own personal reference. The majority of these works are stacked images, reminiscent of Alexey Titarenko.

Faizan Adil is a Pakistan based documentary and fine art photographer. In 2015 he completed a BA (Hons) in Mass Communication at Beaconhouse National University in Lahore, with a thesis exploring ‘The Role of Photography and Photojournalism in Pakistan’.  Faizan works to understand the human psyche as concealed by society. His photographs interpret the full spectrum of human thought, memory and emotion, exploring the solitary state of the individual based on his / her frame of reference.
